TULSA, OK - August 30, 2002 - BAE SYSTEMS, (formerly British Aerospace), a global systems company dedicated to making the intelligent connections needed to deliver innovative solutions to its customers, announced that it has contracted with DATA3 in Tulsa, OK to develop an application system which allows tracking of component removal data for the over 25 users of approximately 250 British Aerospace manufactured aircraft around the world.
DATA3’s Component Removal Data Collection system (CRDC) utilizes SUN Enterprise / Solaris hardware and operating system, combined with Oracle Database and Web Development tools. CRDC tracks all removal data, including R/O number, item part number & serial number, hours and cycles used, and reason for removal from the operator, and combines this information with confirmed findings from the vendors “tear down / strip / shop findings report”, including item part number and serial number, vendor name, shop findings / reason for failure, and piece part replacement and cost information, and then applies a system for standard coding where necessary and creates graphs to provide analysis based on component history for a selected serial number, showing critical information and history for each component part. These graphical analyses are then available to aid BAE Systems, the aircraft operators, and repair vendors in making critical future component removal and reliability decisions.
